In the clean room area, the mould tools are positioned ready for the lay-up operations. This is where the pre-impregnated materials such as CFRP, GFRP and AFRP are brought in from the controlled freezer store. This is usually in pre-cut shapes ready to be formed to the complex shapes of the moulds. This is a skilled operation that requires the lay-up operators follow the ply laying methods determined by the component drawings, with procedures being determined / contolled by the Project Engineers at RACL.
